The Apostle Paul said this about Jesus, “Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15). Certainly, the Gift of Jesus is inexpressible. But consider some of these great biblical statements about Jesus.

“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons” (Galatians 4:4-5).

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).

To Mary, the angel of God said this about Jesus, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end’” (Luke 1:30-33).

To Joseph, the angel of God said this about Jesus, “She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:20-21).

“For in him (Christ) the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily” (Colossians 2:9).

“In Christ God was reconciling the world to himself” (2 Corinthians 5:19).

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9).

“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men” (Philippians 2:5-7).

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

Those are amazing statements about Jesus. He is so much more than a great teacher or leader. Jesus Christ is the literal entrance of Almighty God into the human race. What an indescribable, inexpressible, inexhaustible Gift!  Like the wise men, may we live to worship the greatest Gift of all.
